Tips & Ideas
Something important to note is that at the time of publishing this I’m not 100% certain the denomination of Lowe’s eGift card you’ll receive will be $15. It has been with these deals in the past, but the claim page doesn’t specifically state what the offer is. If you take advantage of this offer, please could you confirm in the comments below if you do indeed get $15 cards. Update: A comment over at Doctor of Credit confirms this deal is giving $15 Lowe’s eGift cards.
This is an excellent deal because even when taking into account the purchase fee on the Visa gift card, reselling the Lowe’s gift card will make this a profitable deal.
Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex cards are earning 5% at Lowe’s this quarter, so this deal can be an easy way to max out those $1,500 spending thresholds in a profitable way.
As far as I’m aware they do enforce the limit of two per email address, but I imagine many of us have access to more than one email address.
Be aware that there’s no longer a card-linked option with the JetBlue shopping portal.

can you use the debit card to buy the next debit card?
In theory yes, although you’d need to split tender seeing as the debit card will have $200 on it and you’ll have to pay $206.95. If you’re doing that one after another, the cashier could get suspicious as to why you’re opening the gift card and immediately using it to pay for the next one.
It’d also mean you’d be missing out on credit card earnings after your first purchase as well as the JetBlue portal card-linked earnings, but I guess if you’d have a hard time liquidating these Metabank Visa gift cards then it could still be worthwhile when taking into account the profit available when reselling the Lowe’s gift cards.
I don’t know about Lowes, but many POS systems, such as Staples and ODOM, are hard-coded to prevent the use of VGCs to purchase VGCs.
Hey look, the Lowes/BHM web site works! lol
Does Lowe’s share L3 data to credit card companies like Staples does?
Stephen, deal is good on both in-store & online, correct?
Lowe’s doesn’t sell Visa gift cards online, so it’s in-store only.
Thanks for the alert. Tested it yesterday, and a data pt and an idea:
1. Promo works on the Grocery Everywhere Visa Gift Cards too. (and if you can find a Lowe’s that has them in stock, they have a lower $4.95 activation fee)
2. If you have it, consider paying for them with the Citi Custom Cash. (Home Improvement stores is one of the monthly 5% cash-back on up to $500 spend…. , if that category becomes your top spend. )
3. Promo this time is processing smoothly for $15 Lowe’s gc.
Statement date on one of my Custom Cash cards is the 14th, will go back on the fifteenth for two more cards 🙂
SCO no longer works at one Lowe’s that I tried. 🙁
Stephen or any folks,
i got ‘ip address limit’ while trying to submit a few of $15 e-gc, anyone knows if clearing cache did remove the limit or a way around it? or we have to use a different ip connection? thx
Bummer. Jet Blue has devalued the points one earns at Lowe’s by 90%. Now website shows 3 points per $10 spent. This is pretty much useless if one is buying this Visa/MC GC deals at Lowe’s to earn Jet Blue points. Still good for credit card sub though.
Looks like its a $15 Lowe’s e-Gift Card based on comments from https://www.doctorofcredit.com/lowes-stores-buy-150-visa-giftcard-get-10-lowes-egiftcard/#comments
Thanks!
Is there a way to find out if a lowes is offering the deal other than going to the store in person? Or what states this is being offered in?
i read somewhere not all states are participating
I thought all stores would be participating. Not all stores will have signage up, but that doesn’t mean they’re not participating. You could always test it out at your local store by buying one Visa gift card – worst case scenario you’re out a few bucks.
I also confirm that I got $15 instantly when uploading the # from back of the $200 VGC I got at Lowes
Did you buy the fixed $200 cards or variable labeled 20-$200?
Redemption site is down. The receipt says it needs to be claimed by 5/3/23, but I’m pretty sure the site and sign both actually said 5/10/23, which would line up with past promos of having 2 weeks.
Hope they get it fixed, because I didn’t finish submitting my cards.
Yep, it definitely said they could be claimed through May 10. This has happened on occasion in the past where the site has gone down for a day or two, but it’s always ended up coming back before the end of the claiming period, so I’d hope that’ll be the case again. It’s a pain that they’re not capable of keeping a landing page up consistently for a couple of weeks though.
