Tips & Ideas
The terms of this offer are a little confusing because its description specifically mentions an online purchase, but the terms go on to state that it’s valid in-store.
Online is probably easier anyway as it looks like buying a gift card should trigger the bonus earnings because Sears seems to process payments for their gift card purchases online themselves. With a limit of 2,400 miles, you’ll max this out when spending $200.
Be sure to click through from a shopping portal in case the purchase tracks – here are the current rates. Sears was very generous in the past with what tracked, but it’s been many years since I’ve bought anything from them, so I don’t know if that’s still the case.
I’ve not seen anything specifically on the business cards unfortunately other than the regular Chase Offers. There’s Visa Savings Edge, but those aren’t particularly special offers unless you’ll be spending money on those services anyway.
I think it was only the United personal cards that earned 3x at grocery stores – I don’t think the business cards were included.
With regards to the Sears offer though, she shouldn’t need to click through from MPX – she should be able to click through from a portal to earn cashback as she only needs to pay with the United card to take advantage of this offer.
[…] think only Barnes & Noble and Sears allow you to buy gift cards online as all the restaurants listed have their gift card purchases […]
But then you are stuck with a Sears gift card, which is nearly worthless.
