American Airlines has a card-linked program called SimplyMiles which allows you to earn bonus miles when paying with a linked Mastercard at eligible retailers.
While it’s been a useful program for earning some bonus miles – especially when buying gift cards at Best Buy, CVS, etc. – the website has had some downsides. It used to load incredibly slowly, only displaying a handful of offers at a time which meant it took ages to view all the different offers.
Its speed has now been improved compared to before. It’s still not the fastest site on the planet, but you’ll have to spend far less time when scrolling nowadays to see the different card-linked offers available.
Perhaps even better are a number of other improvements they’ve made. For starters, they’ve added a search bar which can help you find an offer more quickly. It automatically searches as you type, reducing the number of results the more you type.
You can sort offers in a couple of different ways – by alphabetical order and by expiry date.
The website also allows you to filter in a couple of different ways. You can filter by activated offers and offers which are still available for you to load.
I particularly appreciate that ‘Activated’ option. In the past, once you’d activated an offer it would always appear last on the list as you scrolled down. Given how long the site used to take to load, reaching that offer to check its terms and expiry date could be tedious. Being able to simply filter for activated offers means you can find that information instantaneously if you’ve not activated a ton of offers; the search bar does the same thing.
Overall, these are some welcome improvements. Let’s hope they add the ability to link Visa and American Express cards as that would make it possible to stack some Chase Offers and Amex Offers.
