Sorry, this deal has ended. |

Brittanie commented on the post listing Cash App Boosts yesterday asking if anyone had used the Boost offering 10% worth of Bitcoin on one purchase at any restaurant. I’d been meaning to test it out and I’m glad she commented as I’d forgotten all about that Boost this week.
It’s often possible to get discounts of more than 10% for restaurant gift cards, so I wanted to trigger this offer in a more lucrative way. When buying gift cards in the Fluz app, several categories code as those categories – grocery, travel, office supply and dining. It’s that final category which proved useful for my test.
If you take a look at the list on that post of gift card brands which code as dining, a couple will likely jump out at you – Amazon Meal Kits and Walmart Cafeteria. Those gift cards are what you might imagine them to be. I therefore applied the 10% Bitcoin Boost in the Cash App and bought a $75 Amazon Meal Kits gift card.
Seeing as I was paying with a debit card, I earned 1% cashback on the transaction from Fluz. More importantly, I also received an instant notification from the Cash App confirming that I’d earned 10% in Bitcoin on the transaction. Somewhat strangely, it said that I’d spent $75 with DoorDash rather than with Amazon Meal Kits or Fluz. I think there was an offer giving 10% in Bitcoin at DoorDash recently, so I’m figuring they forgot to change the template of the confirmation for that offer.
As you can see, I’m now the proud owner of 0.00015694 Bitcoin. This is hardly the deal of the year, but earning 10% in Bitcoin plus 1% cashback for buying an Amazon gift card is a decent return, especially if this deal returns week after week.
Note that the current Boosts are due to expire at 11am ET on Friday, so there’s not long left to take advantage of it this week. Boosts are also targeted, so there’s no guarantee that you’ll have this offer available in the Cash App.
The Amazon Meal Kit cards are sold out now. The Walmart Cafeteria ones can only be bought in certain denominations. Settled for Uber Eats which can also be used for Uber and also got an extra 2% with Fluz cuz CashApp card is a debit card (though I’ve seen it classified as prepaid card too).
Some brands seem to go in and out of stock in the Fluz app, so hopefully Amazon Meal Kits returns soon.
Oh and it also showed up as doordash for me in CashApp too. Weird.
I’m not a fan of Fluz. Anybody try it with other restaurant gift cards on apps/sites such as Card Cash or Raise?
As far as I’m aware, Raise and CardCash aren’t set up to code differently, so they’ll likely end up as miscellaneous online shopping.
Thanks’!
Amazon Meal Kits gift cards back in stock.
Good to know – thanks!
