It’s been a little while since new Happy gift cards were launched, but that doesn’t mean Blackhawk Network hasn’t been busy.
They’ve now launched four new gift cards which are all some kind of Choice cards. They’re very much like Happy and Giving Good gift cards in that they each have a theme, with each card being useable at a handful of different retailers and/or restaurants relating to that theme.
Here’s a quick rundown of the new cards:
Cheers To You! Choice Gift Card
Eligible retailers:
- Domino’s
- Macy’s
- Home Depot
- GameStop
- Old Navy
- Outback Steakhouse
- Fanatics
Happy Birthday Choice Gift Card
Eligible retailers:
- The Cheesecake Factory
- AMC Theatres
- Gap
- Ulta Beauty
- Outback Steakhouse
- Subway
- Lowe’s
Retail Therapy Choice Gift Card
Eligible retailers:
- Ulta Beauty
- Wayfair
- Macy’s
- Lululemon
- Gap
- Nordstrom Rack
Treat Yourself Choice Gift Card
Eligible retailers:
- The Cheesecake Factory
- Outback Steakhouse
- Buffalo Wild Wings
- Macy’s
- Grubhub
- Athleta
- Bed Bath & Beyond
As noted by the ‘Online Exchange Required’ wording on the gift cards, these are all ‘Swap’ cards. That means that they can’t be used directly in-store; instead, you redeem them online for gift cards for one or more of the eligible retailers. Here’s how that works for Happy and Giving Good gift cards; the same will presumably be true with these new Choice gift cards.
For the most part, these new cards aren’t particularly interesting as they don’t really do anything that Happy and Giving Good gift cards don’t already do. However, it’s certainly not a bad thing that there are more options for this kind of thing than fewer.
It’s also good to see that Home Depot is an eligible retailer on the Cheers To You! Choice gift card. That’s probably the most valuable brand for most resellers, so hopefully we’ll see deals on Choice gift cards in the future.
It looks like the “Cheers to You” isn’t processed by HappyCards so it’s not eligible for the Amex Offer 🙁 it takes you to GCM.
Yep, the same happens with the Giving Good gift cards unfortunately.
