Update 4/18/20: The refund from this cancelled transaction hit my account today, so hopefully you won’t have any need to follow up with Zola to get your refund(s).
Update 4/16/20: Someone from Zola has reached out to advise that this offer has expired. Strictly speaking, that doesn’t seem to be the case as the Amex Offer is still available on my wife’s card and they still have gift cards listed on their website. However, I suspect they’ll cancel every gift card order paid for with an American Express card, so for all intents and purposes this deal is indeed dead.
Update 4/15/20: There are reports (e.g. here and here) advising that orders are being cancelled. Mine is still in ‘Order Placed’ status, but I’m not holding out much hope of it being fulfilled. If yours is showing as having been cancelled, it’d be worth setting a reminder for next week to check if they’ve issued a refund.
Update 4/14/20: Zola has a referral program which offers a $50 credit when doing the following:
- signs up for and creates a bona fide new registry on Zola.com
- registry has a sale of $50 or more processed on Zola.com (collectively, a “qualified registry”).
Both parties receive a credit of $50 – here’s my referral link if you’ve not used this offer yet. (h/t Doctor of Credit)
The Deal
- Spend $100 at Zola.com in one or more transactions & get $20 back with Amex Offer.
Key Terms
- Expires June 11, 2020.
- Offer valid only at zola.com.
- Valid only on US website.
- Includes purchases via merchant mobile app.
Tips & Ideas
Zola is a wedding registry website, but they have a large selection of third party eGift cards available for purchase. This includes brands like Home Depot, Disney, Delta, Southwest, Uber and many more, so this is an easy way to pick up a 20% discount.
Zola is listed on a couple of cashback websites. Although the categories listed don’t include gift cards, it’s worth clicking through anyway just in case it did happen to track.
