Tips & Ideas
With a limit of $25 in total statement credits, you’ll obviously max this out when spending $100 which can be in one transaction or multiple.
A couple of important things to note with this offer. The first is that it’s only valid on purchases from Walmart.com – not in-store purchases.
The other is that it lists eGift cards as being excluded. As far as I’m aware, purchases of third party eGift cards online should trigger the statement credit from this offer. Buying Walmart eGift cards might not work as I think I’ve seen data points in the past suggesting that payments for those are processed differently which might be why they’re listed as being excluded; I’m not certain about that though. I think purchases of physical Walmart gift cards should work though.

I used this offer that I loaded to my platinum amex to buy a physical gift card that was mailed to me. The card has since arrived and I just checked, but I haven’t gotten the credit and the offer is now missing from my amex offers. Is there a weird time period when they take the offer away and are getting ready to issue the credit? I double checked before I bought it that I had it loaded to the card.
I think there can sometimes be a lag. If you don’t get the credit in a couple of weeks, it’d be worth following up with Amex at that point.
