Once upon a time there was a company called Fandango. Then a company called Vudu came along which was bought by Walmart. Fandango then launched FandangoNOW, an online streaming service.
Fandango Media went on to buy Vudu, rebranding FandangoNOW as Vudu. Vudu’s logo subsequently had ‘Fandango’ listed beneath its name, but despite that you couldn’t use Vudu gift cards for Fandango or vice versa.
Well, things have been changed once more as FandangoNOW turned Vudu has been rebranded once again, this time as Fandango At Home.
They’ve stated that nothing has changed other than the logo and brand colors, so that presumably means that Fandango At Home gift cards won’t be redeemable on Fandango’s website and vice versa. That seems to be an unnecessary complication, so I wouldn’t be surprised if things change in that regard in the coming months/years, although we’ll see. It does mean though that for now you’ll have to be particularly careful when buying Fandango and Fandango At Home gift cards so that you don’t buy the wrong brand.
