Raise announced recently that they’d be rebranding the Slide app as Raise. Here’s more about that initial announcement, along with some further details about that change.
That conversion/rebranding has now been done, so if you previously had the Slide app on your phone you’ll now see a green Raise app icon in its place.
There doesn’t seem to be much notable about the app right now. I’d been hoping they might offer some kind of increased promotional pricing for some of the brands for the relaunch, but sadly not.
They have added quite a few new brands though compared to what was available in its previous Slide incarnation. That includes Walmart, Home Depot, Kroger and its family of brands, Safeway/Albertsons and its family of brands, Giant Eagle and more.
1.5% cashback on Walmart gift cards isn’t bad, although you might do better buying those in the MileagePlus X (MPX) app seeing as that passes on credit card coding (although I don’t know if Walmart codes as grocery in the MPX app).
In terms of functionality, it’s a shame that you can’t sort the full list of gift cards in order of cashback rate. It’s also a little surprising that if you’re on that full list of gift card brands that you can’t search for a gift card – you have to go back to the home page to access a search bar.
Hmm it’s weird. I have my auto update off so I still have slide app and can access it’s functionality including top up balance and withdraw to paypal. though I have’t done either so can’t say it’ll work or not.
