Tips & Ideas
Both of these are good deals. The Choice Happy Holidays one will be of interest for gift card resellers seeing as that can be exchanged for Lowe’s gift cards.
Pay with a Target RedCard to save an additional 5%, or with a Discover It card to earn 5% back this quarter if you’ve not already maxed out that $1,500 spending limit. With the Choice deal, if you pay with a RedCard it’ll only reduce the price by $4.25 rather than $5 as they deduct the value of the Target gift card before doing that calculation.
If you do this deal online, be aware that Target will lock the Target gift cards to your account. That means the cards can’t be resold, so only do this deal online if you can make use of the Target gift cards for personal use.
If buying in-store, you can no longer reload the same Target gift card to have a higher balance, so you’ll end up with a bunch of lower denomination Target gift cards if you scale the deal.
Check your Target Circle account for bonus offers that say something like ‘Make 3 purchases of $100+ to earn a $30 reward in Target Circle earnings’. Those kinds of offers get triggered by gift card purchases and so can stack with these kinds of deals if you spend enough per transaction.
If you have bonus offer, make sure you spend enough to cover the required bonus spend PLUS the value of the Target gift card. For example, if the bonus requires you to spend $100 in each transaction, and you are getting a $15 Target gift card back, you will need to spend $115 to satisfy the bonus requirement.
