Update 10/21/23: When this deal went live at 3am ET, I tried buying one of these online and it didn’t add the $20 Target gift card to my cart. That made it seem like this offer was only available in-store, but Carrie has confirmed that it’s now working online and sure enough, it’s adding a $20 card to my cart now.

Tips & Ideas
This is a great deal as the standard non-dining Happy Holidays card includes Lowe’s which will make this nicely profitable for reselling. Note that the card pictured in the image above is different to the one that’s actually listed when clicking through to the eligible brands. However, this deal doesn’t seem to be available online – only in-store – so I don’t know which version they stock in-store.
Target is a 5% category on the Discover It card this quarter so that’s a good payment option, as is a Target RedCard. Due to the weird way that Target calculates things, paying with a RedCard will save you 5% on $80 as they deduct the $20 Target gift card value first, so you’ll only save $4 rather than $5.
If you do this deal online, be aware that Target will lock the Target gift cards to your account. That means the cards can’t be resold, so only do this deal online if you can make use of the Target gift cards for personal use.
If buying in-store, you can no longer reload the same Target gift card to have a higher balance, so you’ll end up with a bunch of $20 Target gift cards if you scale the deal.
Online purchase did trigger $20 Target GC.
Awesome, thank you. When I added a $100 card to my cart when the deal went live it didn’t add the $20 card, so they must’ve fixed that.
Stephen, great deal! Thanks for posting! A few tips for your readers:
1) This is a 1-day Target Circle deal
2) in-store (at least in my store) these appear to only be sold in $25 increments (not sure if this changes the deal calculus?) I bought 4 to trigger the offer. Online they are available in $50 as well as $100 increments
3) According to my friendly Target manager, these just got stocked the other day and may be hard to find. In my store at least, they weren’t with the rest of the giftcards by the registers, but in another giftcard section by the greeting cards.
Hope this helps!
