Tips & Ideas
These are some really good portal promotions, with the Upromise offer being particularly noteworthy. Earning $100 bonus cashback in addition to the standard cashback you’d earn on your transaction(s) is a great deal.
As always with these shopping portal promotions, gift card purchases are excluded, but that’s not always the case. All four of these portals include GiftCards.com and Raise, so purchases from those sites should trigger these bonus miles/points/cashback amounts. I can’t guarantee it’ll still work, but I earned $100 bonus cashback from Upromise towards the end of last year when they ran a similar promotion, so I’d expect it to work again.
Something worth remembering is that you’re now limited to rewards through cashback portals for GiftCards.com purchases on a maximum of $2,000 spend per month. If you haven’t placed any orders yet this month, you could place a $1,000 order through Upromise to trigger the $100 bonus. You could then place a $1,000 order through one of the airline portals by July 31 to trigger another bonus, then you could hit the other two airline portals in August to max out those offers too if you wanted.
Be sure to note the different expiry dates of these offers, as the Upromise bonus ends July 31, Alaska’s ends on August 9 and Southwest and United expire on August 16.
Stephen,
I thought you might have done the Upromise deal (like last time) – did you? If so, have you gotten any notifications about pending cash backs at all? For me, it’s been almost a week and not even the regular CB is showing up yet.
I received an email confirming that the transaction had tracked within 24 hours. Last time I think it took over a week for the tracking email to arrive, so hopefully it still tracks for you without an issue.
