I think this is a new feature, but it might well be old news that I simply hadn’t heard about. Shop Your Way has a portal where you can redeem your Shop Your Way points for third party gift cards – you can find it here.
The portal is powered by Raise and it looks like the gift cards are first-hand rather than second-hand, so it’s similar to how Raise’s Cash Back gift cards work. As a result, they’re only available in specific denominations.
It’s been several years since I earned any Shop Your Way points, so I have very little awareness of how its ecosystem works nowadays. I’m assuming that you can get somewhat better value from the points if you actually buy stuff at Sears, but this gift card option still provides good value.
The points value appears to be fixed when redeeming for gift cards regardless of denomination, as every 1,000 points is worth $1. Minimum denominations vary depending by brand; as you can see in the image above, Lowe’s gift cards can be bought in denominations as low as $5, whereas Uber gift cards start at $15.
If you have a Shop Your Way account, check your emails as some people are being targeted with 10,000 points – worth $10 – to use in this gift card portal.
