Tips & Ideas
This sadly appears to be a regional deal rather than available everywhere because 5x points is a great deal on higher value cards like Amazon and Best Buy that never earn more than 2x at Albertsons and its affiliate stores.

I’m thinking about this post and the Alaska angle. Would it be possible to temporarily switch my location to a region offering this to enable me to clip this coupon and the get the 5x at my local store?
You’d be able to clip the coupon if changing it to an eligible region, but I don’t think it would then work wherever you are. I’ve made this mistake before where I’d clipped digital coupons when my account was set to another region and it didn’t give the discount or bonus points at checkout.
What’s the value of 5x if redeemed on groceries?
It depends on how many points you earn – the more points you have, the better value redemptions you can get on groceries. If you go to the Rewards section of your Just For U account, you’ll be able to see all the options – 12 Rewards for $20 off, etc.
Which region(s) does this work for?
Utah is one, I’m not sure about others. I don’t know if it’s all of Utah either. Changing your region to clip the coupon won’t earn you bonus points if you end up buying them in your region though.
It’s not anywhere near me, but, for someone close, might be worth a drive. These are now Alaska miles we are talking, not just food & gas.
They’ve done this deal every year around this time in the AZ/UT region for the past several years. If Best Buy & Amazon resell rates weren’t garbage right now it might be worth doing.
Until this year it was one part of the best opportunity of the year as it also would stack with the $25 coupon for buying $150 of select gcs & one of those brands would always be 10x points as well. This was also before they nerfed the ability to redeem several rewards on a single purchase to make the total go negative. It was by far one of the best stacking opportunities each year but sadly they’ve eliminated all of the outsized value. Probably because people like me took thousands of dollars out of there every Nov-Dec. Since all these plays are now dead, it worked like this:
-Buy a $150 gc included in the receive a $25 off $25 coupon when buying $150 gc that also was offering 10x-13x points (last year I think it was Staples, the before was Sephora, Macy’s maybe before that? I don’t remember)
-Buy enough $150 per acct to max out all possible $ rewards like 7 rewards for $10 off, 5 for $7 off, etc. You could save 1 of each reward per month back then so going in both Nov & Dec would get you 2 sets of each. Accumulate as many as possible w/o redeeming any
-Before all the $x/$x rewards expired buy an item of about $10-$12, whatever the max value of the biggest coupon was ($20 I think last year)
-This purchase would trigger ALL of the reward coupons to apply, buying the minimum would get you down to like a negative $63 total or something similar.
-They hated seeing a negative balance and would freak out so the easiest thing to do would be to just add a $500 vgc, so your total would be like $440 or something.
-Liquidate the vgc
If you did all the steps correctly you could do thousands in grocery spend, collect a stack of $25 off $25 coupons and a modest net profit depending on resale rates. In 2019 we got like $800 worth of merch from the $25 off’s. Things like toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, canned food, etc. Three months later in 2020 the world went on lockdown & we were the only ones around with TP to spare. The neighborhood rejoiced. Anyway, enough story time. None of these steps/plays work anymore, sad to see it go.
No go in southern Colorado
5x gc shows in NW Arizona too. Google just4U regional map. Looks like it was released to the Southwest region. I advise folks in neighboring regions to try it just in case; some areas have coupons that “share” across regional neighboring borders, even when not showing in app. Emphasis on SOME, not all. To try this, switch location to a store in the SW, clip the coupon, ****switch back to a store in the region you actually shop in***. Then see if you got lucky! Most coupons are regional, some are nationwide (like 10x Dominos), and the rare few are neighborly sharing coupons, based on location.
Can somebody share the zip code of the store where it shows up? I have tried many zips in Utah and Arizona but no luck.

I looked in the Albertson’s app.
Er, maybe the Safeway app.
Thanks. After lot of hit and trial I found it on my own in Albertsons app using zip 85086.
Just because you can clip the coupon does not mean it will work in your local store. These coupons are regional — they only work in the sales region targeted plus, sometimes, certain areas of adjacent sales regions. In other words, if you switch your app to a location in southern Utah or Arizona and clip the coupon, most likely it will not work in a store outside that sales region even if clipped. But, as Lela said, YMMV for adjacent sales regions — it might work in northern Utah (even though that’s a different sales region from southern Utah). But it will not work in Seattle or Boston, for sure.
