Tips & Ideas
We’ve seen Quill Chase Offers giving 10% back before which in itself was a great deal, so getting 20% back with a limit of $50 in statement credits is awesome. In case you’re not familiar with Quill, it’s an online office supply store that’s owned by Staples. They sell a number of different types of gift cards including Visa gift cards. Note that they’ve now added a gift card exclusion in the terms; I’m not sure if they have any way to enforce that though.
To max out this offer, you can buy a $300 Visa gift card which comes with an $8.95 purchase fee. You’ll get $50 back from this Chase Offer and 5x if you happen to have this offer on an Ink Plus or Ink Cash card.
Also be sure to click through from a shopping portal in case the purchase tracks – here are the current rates.
Check other programs that use the same backend as Chase Offers like Bank of America’s BankAmeriDeals as this offer could show up there too.

Nice catch. (w multiple stack possibilities, rmn, & yes, Ink/chase offers too. 🙂 )
Re. the visa $300 listing, this from on the Quill site:
“Business Customer Exclusive
We apologize. Due to contractual obligations, this item can only be purchased by registered business customers.”
(hmmmm…. Any issues with setting up the “business” version of a Quill account? )
There should be a setting under your account to switch it to be a business account.
The last time I had the offer, they absolutely refused to ship it unless it was purchased with a business card and shipped to a business address and had to be verified as a business by them. And they wouldn’t let you have more than 1 account at the same business address, so if someone in your work already set up an account at that address, you won’t be able to use it for shipping. All in all, I wasted probably over an hour with 4 separate phone calls to them last time before I finally gave up.
DP: my offer excludes gift cards and the last time the vgc did not trigger the offer.
Or rmn either
Just purchased a vgc and received an immediate email from Chase saying the offer was used.
Yup, so far for me this time everything lookin’ good. Took over a week to ship, then triggers offers… posting > expected. (even the RMN @ 6% is pending, on top of Chase offer.) “Awesome” indeed.
What is RMN?
Eventually got the rmn, but not the chase cash back.
This is a solid deal if chase pays out. (I did this almost a year ago, before GC restrictions were in the fine print.) I would like to warn people that Quill is pretty persistent with their spam (both snail mail, email, and phone calls) – so make sure you use the appropriate spam email addresses and phone numbers! There is a setting to remove snail mail and emails, but I still see snail mail from them once in awhile.
Having previously taken advantage of this deal, the amount of nonsense I’ve gotten from Quill is slowly treading into the “not worth it” arena.
Not sure if this will be posted, but just wanted to provide a “longer term” take on a deal for people on the fence.
Saw this on BofA
They require real business information now.
