Tips & Ideas
OK, there’s a bit to unpack here. Most importantly, the offer giving 10% back in Pepper points for Home Depot, Lowe’s, Bed Bath & Beyond and Instacart is only valid for new users and those who’ve already signed up and not made a purchase. If you’ve already made a purchase in the Pepper app, you won’t get the 10% in points.
The setup of the offer isn’t ideal. There’s nothing in the app during the purchase process that states that the user will earn 10% back. I checked this with Pepper and they advised the following: “The app will just show the standard number of points and users will have to trust that the promotion has been triggered and the points will be issued into their accounts 30 days after purchase.” That’s not ideal, but I have given feedback that it would be very good if they can update the app in the future to at least show what the correct number of points should be.
I’m sure some people will be very tempted by the ability to earn 10% back on an unlimited amount of Home Depot gift cards, but be sure to consider your risk tolerance. You’d be buying the gift cards in a relatively new app with no absolute guarantee that you’ll definitely get the 10% worth of points in a month’s time. Provided those points do credit correctly, you’d then only have 60 days to redeem them. All that’s a not insignificant risk, so it’s up to you how hard you want to hit this deal.
I’ve also confirmed with Pepper that for the 10% points deal, there’s no denomination limit other than the highest denominations available for each brand in the app. For Instacart that’s $250, for Lowe’s and Bed Bath & Beyond that’s $500 and for Home Depot it’s $1,000.
@Stephen Pepper, my first 30 days ended on the 17th and can confirm I received my additional 5% in Anywhere Cash today.
Hey mark. This is fantastic news as I was looking for a data point of someone who successfully hit their 30 days. My only question for you is what exactly anywhere cash (as opposed to the in app cashback( and did you have to create some sort of account somewhere?
Ditto. 30 days posted today. Cash is in Anywhere Cash. Amount is about right based on a rough calculation. Now have to figure out what to spend it on.
Is there something I need to ensure I do to be able to get the anywhere cash? Such as creating an account on another website?
