Best Buy has announced details of an updated membership program and there might be some good news in here.
There will be three membership types – My Best Buy, My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total – which will take effect from June 27, 2023. Here’s how Best Buy is describing the benefits of each membership level, along with their costs:

My Best Buy Total will replace their current Totaltech program. For existing Totaltech members, you’ll maintain your existing benefits through the end of your membership year, at which point you’ll be converted to My Best Buy Total. The cost of the new My Best Buy Total membership is $179.99, so $20 cheaper than Totaltech’s current pricing.
Where this gets interesting is the new My Best Buy Plus middle membership level. One of the benefits is listed as “Exclusive member-only prices on thousands of items”. That’s something currently only available to people paying $199.99 per year for a Totaltech membership. There have been a number of great gift card deals that have only been available for Totaltech members over the last six months or so. For people who’ve been able to hit those deals hard, the $199.99 cost of entry has been worth it. If those deals continue after June 27 and become available to My Best Buy Plus members too, that’d make the $49.99 annual cost a no brainer for many resellers.
It remains to be seen though as to whether Best Buy will continue with those exclusive gift card deals, so it’ll be something to keep an eye on.
interesting, if there’s cashback/referral payout for those membership it may be worth getting.
I feel like AppleCare+ could easily cover the cost of this if you’ve got something like a new MacBook to buy
