Update 8/3/23: If you took out a free Prime trial for Prime Day you’ll be starting to get charged monthly soon, so remember to cancel your subscription if you don’t want to maintain it.
Amazon will soon once again be running Prime Day; this year it’s from July 11-12, 2023. There’ll likely be a bunch of gift card deals running over the course of those two days, some (or hopefully many!) of which will be break even or profitable for reselling, as well as being good for personal use.
The thing is, unlike other times of the year when Amazon offers discounts on gift cards, during Prime Day you have to have a Prime membership to take advantage of those deals. An Amazon Prime subscription isn’t cheap though – it’s $139 when paying annually or $14.99 when paying monthly. Paying $14.99 for one month might be worth it depending on the deals available from July 11-12, but you can hopefully do better than that.
That’s because Amazon is generous when it comes to offering 30 day free trials of Amazon Prime. My wife has had a Prime subscription in the past, then for the last few years we’ve taken advantage of the free trial option just before Prime Day to ensure she has access to those deals too. Amazon is often then generous with offering an extension of a month for free, although that’s not guaranteed.
Anyway, you can click here to get a free trial of Amazon Prime (our affiliate link) to ensure you have access to what will hopefully be some great deals. If you’re planning on actually keeping a Prime subscription, you’d be better off clicking through from a shopping portal like TopCashback as they’re offering a $15 Amazon gift card free when subscribing to an annual Prime plan. I don’t think any portals offer anything for a free trial though which is why I included a referral link above.
