Over the years, Kroger has been building up its portfolio of grocery store chains, picking up Ralphs, Fry’s, Smith’s, King Soopers and many more. Their websites and fuel points programs have all been aligned with Kroger’s.
An exception was Harris Teeter. Despite being bought by Kroger almost 10 years ago, their fuel points program ran separately to Kroger’s.
Until now.
When going on Harris Teeter’s website just now, I noticed that the layout was exactly the same as Kroger’s and those of its other affiliate stores. I was prompted to reset my password in order to log in, so I did that. The email I used on my Harris Teeter account is the same as on my Kroger account; despite having different passwords for those two websites, my Harris Teeter account now seems to be linked to my Kroger account as my Kroger fuel points earnings are showing up on my Harris Teeter login.
Although I once lived in an area with a Harris Teeter nearby, I rarely shopped there as I preferred Kroger and its lower prices at the time. I’ve therefore never been too familiar with the inner workings of Harris Teeter’s fuel points program, so I don’t know if this change will be good for Harris Teeter shoppers or not. I’d assume that it’s a good thing because it means you can now load the same fuel points account(s) at all of Kroger’s brands, but perhaps there’s some kind of downside that I’m not aware of.

Does this mean that the school fundraising efforts tied to loyalty cards is linked? Meaning, do we need to sign up families for both Harris Teeter and Kroger, or just one?
I’m afraid I’m not sure.
