Blackhawk Network has once again made a few changes recently to their Happy gift card lineup. Here’s what they are.
Happy Holidays – New
For starters, there’s a brand new Happy Holidays brand. This could make things even more confusing because it now means that there are six different Happy Holidays brands out there.
The retailers on this new brand are:
- Macy’s
- GameStop
- P.F. Chang’s
- Chili’s
- Ulta Beauty
- Lowe’s
- Red Lobster
What’s notable about this particular brand is that it’s a gift card that can be used in-store rather than having to be redeemed online for gift cards for the retailers listed above. That could make it easier to convert to other gift card brands at GameStop and possibly Macy’s or Lowe’s.
It could potentially be useful at Chili’s, Red Lobster and P.F. Chang’s too if you can buy this Happy Holidays gift card at a discount and then buy those restaurants’ gift cards in-restaurant when they’re offering bonus cards like they’re all doing at the time of publishing this.
Holiday Favorites – Discontinued
It seems to be a case of one holidays card in, one out. That’s because they appear to have discontinued the Holiday Favorites brand. There had been two versions of this card; they had the same eligible retailers, with the only difference being the card design.
It’s a bit of a shame that this card seems to have been discontinued because all the eligible brands on this card can regularly be resold for 80%+.
Happy You – No More Macy’s?
The image above is what Happy You gift cards looked like previously. Depending on where you’re buying them from online, you might now see a slightly different design:
All the retailers are the same with the exception of Macy’s being removed. This new version is what’s listed on GiftCards.com which is owned by Blackhawk Network – the company that issues Happy gift cards. I’m therefore assuming that Macy’s will be no more, but GiftCardMall – another Blackhawk Network-owned site – still has Macy’s listed on their Happy You gift cards.
HappyCards.com (the official Happy gift cards website which is also run by Blackhawk Network) also still has Macy’s on their Happy You cards, but Amazon’s listing has Macy’s removed.
Things are therefore all over the place, but I think there’s a far greater likelihood that Macy’s is indeed being removed and GiftCardMall and HappyCards simply haven’t updated their websites yet.
It’s therefore worth being careful when buying Happy You gift cards in the coming months if you’re planning on reselling the cards and Macy’s is the only one making the deal worthwhile.

On 11/15 when Amazon ran the sale on Happy Cards, I noticed that Macys was not an option to redeem for on the Happy You card. Just looked at the image of the card and the Macys logo was not there
Thanks for confirming that.
Which stores carry the physical Happy Holidays Gift cards?
They’re being sold by GiftCardMall; I don’t know if they’re in any physical stores yet.
