Anyone know if it’s safe to buy GC at Stop & Shop to meet an Amex opening bonus?
standard caution / wisdom on that would be very careful…. In my extended family experience, we’ve never had any prob. with regular points earnings buying gc’s at Kroger, Martin’s etc….. on well-seasoned accounts, always mixing gc buying with lots of regular grocery spend. (e.g., not gcs)…. But in theory, “they” could balk… RAT teams. More scrutiny likely during the promo period to earn the lucrative card opening bonus…. The more gung ho yahoo types might counsel don’t worry. I’m be more inclined to ask, why risk it? Usually, you have 90 days to pull it off…. slow & steady, then gradually ramp it up. (then you won’t need “luck”)
