Wow, it’s finally back! We used to see deals on Visa and Mastercard gift cards at Giant, Giant Food Stores, Martin’s and Stop & Shop somewhat frequently, but it’s been a couple of years since they last ran any of these deals. In the meantime they’ve switched out from having Metabank/Pathward Visa gift cards to Vanilla Visa gift cards.

2x points is worth 2% back towards groceries or up to 4% back towards gas depending on your ability to maximize fuel redemptions. Either way, the savings will more than offset the purchase fees which will make this a profitable deal even before taking into account the bonus points you can earn by paying for these with a credit card that earns more at grocery stores.

A couple of other things to note. First, this offer starts on Friday. Secondly, they now have a limit of $2,000 per account which I think does get enforced. You’ll therefore need more than one account in order to scale this deal.
