Tips & Ideas
This is a fantastic offer as it’s not often that you can save 15% on an unlimited amount of gift cards for brands like Dick’s Sporting Goods, Starbucks, Chipotle, etc.
Something potentially worth bearing in mind is that the 15% discount might only be applied on fixed-denomination cards for some brands. For example, the image in the weekly ad shows $20 Nintendo eShop gift cards and $25 Xbox, Starbucks and Buffalo Wild Wings gift cards. I don’t know if those brands simply aren’t available as variable load cards at Dollar General, if they are available but not eligible for this deal or that they are both available and eligible for this deal. If you’re interested in a brand like Starbucks and they have non-$25 denominations available, check the amount being charged before buying to ensure the 15% discount is indeed being applied.
Note that this offer is a one day deal on Friday December 16, so I’ll republish this post as a reminder then.
How does dollar general categorize spending for credit cards? Is it grocery? Or something else?
I think it’s something like General Merchandise, so I’m not aware of any particular cards offering bonused spend there.
It shows as “Retail-Variety Stores” on my M1 credit card which is a visa signature card.
Also, the card offers 10% cash back on DG purchases including gift cards
DGs around me do have variable load Sbux cards.
I think you put Dollar Dig tag instead of Dollar General to this post
