CardCash has been available on a handful of shopping portals for some time, but they’ve mainly been lesser-known portals that people don’t use quite as much. Seeing as those portals probably have a minimum payout, it’d likely take a while to earn enough to reach the payment threshold if you used one of those portals solely for CardCash purchases.
There’s good news on that front because CardCash is now available on Rakuten. Although the rate isn’t as good as some of the other portals (only 1%/1x versus up to 2% on other portals), the fact that you can now earn Membership Rewards might be preferable for some, along with the fact that it likely means there’ll be fewer issues with having to wait ages before earning enough to get a payout.
Note that Rakuten lists the following gift card brands as being excluded from earning cashback:
- Walmart
- Sam’s Club
- Best Buy
- Home Depot
If you’re interested in any of those brands it’d be worth checking other portals where CardCash is available through them as it looks like they all have different exclusions. For example, SimplyBestCoupons excludes the first three of those brands along with Apple and Target, but doesn’t seem to exclude Home Depot.
