Tips & Ideas
I came across this tonight while researching something else and it has the potential to be interesting for gift card purchases. If it does work, it’s still a niche proposition seeing as few people probably have the Hawaiian Airlines credit card, although with its increased signup bonus there might soon be more people with the card.
Let me say now – I’m not certain this will work, but if you have a Hawaiian Airlines card then it’s certainly worth testing out.
The terms of the offer aren’t entirely clear, as in one place it says ‘Earn miles every time you shop at AARP’, while in another it says ‘Offer valid online for one purchase.’ I’ve therefore no idea if you can only earn the bonus miles once or if it’ll work on every purchase.
AARP Rewards sells discounted gift cards; with an AARP Chase Offer, buying gift cards worked for a reader to trigger the statement credit. I therefore strongly suspect that buying gift cards will earn you 10x Hawaiian Airlines miles. If it does, that’s a great return.
the offer link is dead
I’ve added a different link – hopefully that one works now.
