In news that very few people will likely have noticed or care about, two shopping portals have permanently closed.
The most recent closure is Speedway’s Speedy Rewards Mall which shut down at some point in the last 24 hours. At some point in the last week or two the Glamour Rewards shopping portal also shut up shop.
Neither portal ever offered particularly competitive rates that I noticed, so it’s not a huge loss. I thought I’d highlight these closures nonetheless though as I found it mildly interesting that this is happening because both portals were run by Cartera – the same company that runs the shopping portals for Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta, United, Southwest and USAA. I don’t think there’s any danger of these other portals shutting down; I imagine that the Speedway and Glamour Rewards portals shut down because they likely attracted few shoppers.
I used Glamour Rewards to spread my GCs com activity around. I got a check for my CB a couple of weeks ago (normal distribution method for them).
How upsetting! I used the Speedway Rewards Mall and have gotten alot of points. I couldn’t figure out why the Rewards Mall wouldn’t show up on the site when I went to use it. I’m glad I found this article to explain. They need to bring it back, I am angry about this. Thanks for sharing -kat from Michigan
Same here… I’ve collected several million points from the rewards mall.
