Key Terms
- During the “Fall Bonus” offer, which runs from 10/4/21 through 10/10/21 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will earn a one-time bonus of 500 MileagePlus bonus award miles on qualifying purchases made through the MileagePlus Shopping mall or from purchases made through MileagePlus Shopping in-store offers.
- This one-time bonus award will be based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period: Earn 500 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $200 or more.
- “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles.

- Please allow up to 10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus award miles to post to your MileagePlus Shopping account.
Tips & Ideas
500 bonus miles when spending $200 means you’re earning an additional 2.5x MileagePlus miles if spending exactly $200. That’s not an amazing return, but if United is already offering a good return at any given retailer, earning 500 bonus miles is a nice bonus.
What’s even more useful is that the United portal has in-store card-linked offers, so that might open up some additional earning opportunities.
The terms exclude gift card purchases, but in the past purchases from Raise, GiftCards.com and GiftCardMall have worked to trigger these types of bonuses.
Always compare portal rates on Cashback Monitor first to ensure you’re getting a good return, because even with the bonus 500 miles you might still do better by clicking through from a different portal.
