Tips & Ideas
Most people will be able to use this automatically when going grocery shopping. In case you do all your grocery shopping at non-eligible stores like Sam’s Club and Target though, you should be able to buy gift cards at U.S. supermarkets to lock in the discount from this offer. Gift card purchases are listed as being excluded, but I imagine that’s not going to be tightly enforced; it might be worth not buying in $505.95 increments though just in case Amex is on the lookout for those kind of transactions.
h/t EW
Curious whether anyone has had experience with what “a minimum of $50 in one or more purchases” means.
(a) If you spend $25 on groceries and then $75 on groceries, do you get $5 or $10?
(b) If you spend $150 on groceries in one transaction, do you get $5 or $15?
I’ll just buy 6 (that’s the limit for my offer) $50 grocery gift cards in separate transactions, and use them up in a couple of shopping trips.
Good idea! Thank you.
