Tips & Ideas
The way this works is that when you buy $50 or more of groceries, you earn 1 Gift Point. Those Gift Points can then be redeemed for $10 off a $50 gift card from the brands listed above.
This is therefore a great deal seeing as it means you can save 20% on brands like Best Buy which will make it nicely profitable for reselling. Even better is the fact that you can earn Gift Points through December 24, so there’s plenty of time to earn them.
The downside is that you have to spend $50 on groceries in order to earn the Gift Points. Still, it might be worth stocking up on items if Tops is your regular grocery store to earn as many points as you can.
There’s something I’m not sure about, so hopefully someone who’s familiar with how this yearly promotion at Tops works can chime in. The ad says you earn 1 gift point for every grocery purchase of $50 or more. Does that mean that spending $100 on groceries only earns you 1 gift point, or is it worded badly in the ad and you actually earn 1 gift point for every $50 spent on groceries? If it’s the former, it’d be best to split your groceries into separate $50 transactions when doing a large shop. Update: Thanks to Randy’s comment below, I’ve added the full terms of this offer above. You can only earn 1 Gift Point every 6 hours, so buying $100 or more of groceries in the same transaction will only earn you 1 Point.
See terms at the bottom. Excludes all the usual things for reaching $50.
Thanks, I’d missed all those terms! I’ll update the post.
