That’s because you can get a 5% bonus when redeeming your cashback for a Visa gift card, so you’re really only getting an extra 4.55% of value versus redeeming for a Visa gift card. Most of these brands can usually be bought at a discount of 5% or more, so you could be better off redeeming as cashback and then buying discounted gift cards.
