This is bonkers! Rakuten has been offering 3-4% on gift cards purchased from Sam’s Club for the last couple of weeks, which means you could earn 3-4x Membership Rewards if your Rakuten account is set up to earn Membership Rewards.
Earning straight 6% cashback is pretty hard to beat though, even if you value Membership Rewards highly. I’m assuming it’s earned when buying any gift cards which is an incredible rate considering Sam’s Club not only sells gift cards at discounts of up to 25%, but Visa and Mastercard gift cards too. A 6% cashback rate on top of the earnings on your credit card is pretty lucrative. The Citi Dividend card is earning 5% on online purchases from warehouse clubs, so that’s 11% cashback on top of whatever other savings Sam’s Club is offering on gift cards.
Like I said, bonkers.
