Similar to the BestBuy.com Amex Offer, this appears to be targeted at personal Platinum cardholders.
eGift cards are excluded because payment for those are processed by CashStar. However, physical gift card purchases appear to be processed by The Container Store which would trigger the statement credit.
Note that there’s a limit of two for this offer, so you can buy $300 worth of gift cards to get $100 back.
Container Store reports Level 2 Data to Amex. High chances of clawback. Tread with caution on this.
