Tips & Ideas

I have Online Shopping selected as the 3% category on my Cash Rewards credit card and initially thought this was going to double the rate to 6% which would still have been a good deal.

Looking more closely at the terms though, the 6% bonus is on top of the 3% I’m already earning as the offer is described as follows (my bolding):

That’s a 6% bonus on up to $2,500 in purchases—and it’s on top of the rewards you already earn with your credit card.

9% for online shopping purchases is fantastic, especially seeing as they’ve launched the promotion leading up to holiday season. If nothing else, I could buy $2,500 of Amazon gift cards at a 9% discount or get 9% back on purchases of already discounted gift cards on Raise.
