Update: As per Lochquel’s comment below, you can indeed Swych for an Amazon gift card. You should also be able to pay with a Discover card using Amazon Pay to earn 5% back (thanks to another reader for that tip).

When you send generic cards like this, Swych allows the recipient to convert it to any gift card of their choice. In the past that’s meant that they could convert it to an Amazon gift card, so this is an opportunity to save 5% on one of those, or two if you and a partner send one to each other.

What do you need to get this to work? I tried buying a home depot and the promo code doesn’t work.
You have to send a Veteran’s Day gift card to someone else. To do that, tap the ‘Send’ tab and select a person from your contacts to send it to. You’ll enter the promo code when checking out and the 5% in Swych Cash will be added to your account.
When the recipient opens the card in the Swych app, they’ll be able to choose which brand they want to ‘Swych’ to which includes Amazon. They can then send you a $75 Veteran’s Day gift card and you can ‘Swych’ yours for an Amazon gift card too.
As mentioned above, this comes in the form of Swych Cash that can be applied to a future order, rather than being a 5% instant discount – hope that makes sense 🙂
