Tips & Ideas
Sun Basket sells eGift cards on their website and it looks like they process payment themselves. That should mean you can buy Sun Basket gift cards to lock in the savings from this Amex Offer.
There are several things to note if going this route. First, the minimum denomination is $60 which means you’d be saving 33.33%. I think with this type of Amex Offer that spending $100 or $150 will trigger the second or third statement credits respectively. It should therefore be possible to buy a $150 gift card to get $60 back and thereby save 40% rather than 33.33%. Update: GoSavorLA has confirmed in the comments below that spending $100 only awarded one $20 statement credit.
Second, if you’re planning on buying these gift cards for personal use rather than reselling, it might be best not to do this if it’s your first time ordering from Sun Basket. That’s because you can earn cashback through a shopping portal with your first order, but they have exclusions when redeeming gift cards. You’d therefore likely be better off placing an initial order of $50+ to trigger at least one statement credit.
Third, if you’re wanting to resell these gift cards, note that Sun Basket is on Raise’s Do Not Buy list.
Finally, whether you’re ordering Sun Basket gift cards for personal use or not, be sure to link your Amex cards with a shopping portal that has a card-linked program which includes Sun Basket. At the time of posting this, that includes Choice, JetBlue, Caesars and Emirates as all their portals are run by Collinson.

Has there been any positive DP or do I have to be my own DP?
I think it’d be a case of being your own DP as this offer only appeared today. My understanding is that other Amex Offers set up in this way (e.g. Best Buy & Home Depot ones on the personal Amex Platinum) have 2+ statement credits triggered by a larger transaction, but there’s no guarantee that’ll be the case here.
I made a $100 gc purchase and only received $20 credit.
Thanks for the heads up – I’ll update the post.
