10% off iTunes gift cards isn’t amazing as they frequently go on sale for 15% off (e.g. this eBay/PPDG deal is still alive at the time of posting this).
That said, you can make this deal better in a couple of ways. There’s a Staples Amex Offer that doesn’t expire until the end of September, or pay with a Chase Ink Plus/Ink Cash card to earn 5x/5%.
Note that this deal doesn’t start until Sunday September 15 and is in-store only.
Agreed – it can be a waste of the value for reselling, but if you’re after the cards for personal use then 5x on top of the 10% discount can be good.
Even for personal use, this seems to be a waste of 5x cap. iTunes GC are regularly available for 15% off and still available from ebay at limit of 3 as opposed to 1 with this Staples deal.
I agree that buying at 15% off makes more sense, but the eBay/PPDG deal looks like it’s about to sell out and so 10% off might be the best deal by the time this offer begins on Sunday.
With the Staples deal, it says there’s a limit of 1 but I suspect that’s 1 per denomination. You can then buy more on a different day or a different store if your store enforces that rule, but I doubt someone would need that many cards if it was indeed only for personal use.
I hadn’t been saying that people should buy these for reselling – just that if you were wanting to buy iTunes GCs then paying with a 5x Ink card makes it a better deal if you don’t have the Staples Amex Offer available.
