Beware of Mastercard gift cards though as there have been numerous problems with them over the last year. Sometimes people have activated them only to have had fraudsters immediately drain the balances. More recently, some people had transactions be declined when trying to use them, but the balances got drained during the supposedly declined transaction. Buying these therefore has the potential to be more hassle than it’s worth.
If the risk doesn’t bother you, there’s still the Staples Chase Offer available on business cards if you’ve not maxed that out. There’s also the Staples Amex Offer for 10% back on up to $500 of spend. Otherwise, paying with a card that earns more at office supply stores (such as the Chase Ink Plus and Ink Cash cards) can be a good alternative.
