Sorry, this deal has ended. Click here to find other gift card deals in the Slide app. |

Just to give you a heads up, Slide will be running some great deals later this month.
- Black Friday (Nov 26) – Buy $50 gift card & get $10 off
- Cyber Monday (Nov 29) – Buy $100 gift card & get $10 off
- Cyber Week (Starts Nov 29) – Spend $100 & get $20 off a $100 order
These are all excellent deals because the discounts are on top of the various ways you can also earn cashback:
- 2% when preloading via debit card (including PayPal Key) or 1% when preloading with a credit card
- 4% cashback from Slide as standard
- 3%+ cashback from a shopping portal
- Total – 9%+ cashback
I’ll publish separate posts for each of these deals once they go live, but wanted to provide some advance warning that there’ll be these opportunities in a few weeks time.
I just downloaded Slide, but how does it work? You put in say $100 for Crate and Barrel and then what? Does it become a gift card to use in the store? Or online only? Sorry for the question, just trying to figure out this new app to start saving money! 🙂
The best thing to do is to preload your account with however much you’ll want to spend on a gift card. That’ll earn you an initial 1% cashback if you loaded with a credit card or 2% if you loaded with a debit card (including PayPal Key).
When you’ve loaded your account, make sure you close the Slide app. That’s not done by just pressing the home button; on my Pixel 4a 5G, I press the square button and swipe the app up to close it.
Next, go to TopCashback or whichever shopping portal you want to click through from. When clicking through on your phone, the shopping portal will open the app. Purchase the Crate & Barrel gift card with the credit you preloaded. That’ll earn you an extra 4% cashback from Slide on the purchase, along with cashback from the shopping portal.
That gift card can then be redeemed however you’d normally be able to redeem the retailer’s gift card. With Crate & Barrel, I’m assuming that’d be valid both online and in-store.
Hope that helps 🙂
That was very helpful! So you can put in any dollar amount for a gift card, not a preset $50 or $100?
Correct – it’s particularly useful when you’re in a store as it means you can buy a gift card for the specific amount you need while at the register.
