There’s currently an opportunity to stack a couple of different offers to save 40% or more on gift cards for The Red Door Salon & Spa. This deal could be perfect for Valentine’s Day next week – here’s how it works.
Offer 1 – The Red Door Salon & Spa Amex Offer
There are a couple of different versions of this Amex Offer. Both of them require $175 of spend, but one gives $55 back while the other gives 5,500 Membership Rewards.
The statement credit version of the offer is therefore a 31.4% discount which is pretty good. The Membership Rewards version offers even better value as those points can be redeemed at a better value than 1cpp (cent per point).
This deal can be made even better though.
Offer 2 – The Red Door Salon & Spa Bonus Card
The Red Door Salon & Spa has launched a new promotion offering a bonus card when spending $150 or more on their gift cards. The tiers are as follows:
- Spend $150 and get a $25 bonus card
- Spend $250 and get a $50 bonus card
- Spend $350 and get a $100 bonus card
There are a couple of important dates to note. First, this promotion ends on February 17, 2019, so there’s just over a week to take advantage of this stacking opportunity. Second, the bonus cards aren’t regular gift cards as they expire on March 31, 2019. You’ll therefore need a plan to use the bonus card by that date, although the original $175 gift card you purchase won’t have an expiry date.
If you buy a $175 gift card, you’ll get a $25 bonus card. That’s $200 of value, but it’ll only cost you $120 once you take into account the statement credit from the Amex Offer – a 40% saving. If you redeem the Membership Rewards version of the Amex Offer, you’re effectively saving even more.
Possible Better Stacking Opportunity
The bonus card offer is available online, but if that same deal is available when you’re at a Red Door Salon & Spa, it should be possible to save 47%.
You earn a $100 bonus card when buying $350 of The Red Door Salon & Spa gift cards. If you and a partner each load the Amex Offer to one of your cards, you could hopefully split a $350 payment as a $175 payment on each of the cards.
If you did that, you’d trigger the Amex Offer on both cards. You’d end up with $450 worth of gift cards ($100 of which would expire at the end of March) at a net cost of $240. That’s a saving of 47% – not too shabby if you or someone special in your life would like treatments at The Red Door Salon & Spa.
