Key Terms
- Between 05/01/2021 00:01 am PST and 05/31/2021 11:59 pm PST (“promotion period”), RebatesMe Refer-a-Friend program will include these additional terms and conditions.
- During the promotion period, members of RebatesMe will be able to earn a $150 credit to their RebatesMe account (the “referral bonus”) upon generating three or more qualified** referrals. Each qualified referee will in turn also receive a $5 credit to their RebatesMe account (the “sign-up bonus”) upon earning a minimum of $10 in cash back within 365 days of opening a RebatesMe account.

Tips & Ideas
I don’t normally bother posting when shopping portals increase their referral bonuses as that’s normally only for $20 or $30. In this instance though I thought this RebatesMe offer was worth highlighting because at $150 for referring three new users, that’s $50 per referral which is a very good offer. You can find the regular referral rules here; note that they exclude multiple accounts from the same household.
Also note that the people you refer have to earn $10 in cashback, not just spend $10 in cashback via the portal. One option for them meeting that spend is to buy Happy gift cards from GiftCards.com. RebatesMe offers 5.1% cashback for Happy gift cards, so if they spent $200 they’d earn $10.20. They’d also earn $5 as their side of the referral bonus and 1% back in G-Money Rewards from GiftCards.com themselves, so that’s a total of 8.6% of their original spend. If you offered to share some of your $50 referral earnings per person, that might give your friends or family members more of an incentive to sign up.
Having said that, it looks like even though your friends have to open their accounts by May 31, 2021, they’d have a full year to earn the $10 in order for you to earn the $150. Provided I’m understanding the terms of this referral promotion correctly, that means there’s less urgency to earn the $10 and so they could just earn that through organic spend when RebatesMe is the best rate for sites they’d be buying from anyway.
