Tips & Ideas
The title of this post says that you can possibly get 11% cashback on Walmart gift cards. That’s because in addition to the 3% back from Raise, you might be able to stack it with 8% from the Mr Rebates shopping portal.
The reason I say you might be able to stack this deal is because even though the Raise deal doesn’t require a coupon code, you’re buying first-hand Walmart gift cards directly from Raise, rather than second-hand cards for sale by other people on Raise’s platform.
Raise presumably has larger margins on the second-hand cards which is probably how they can afford the more sizable commission payment to Mr Rebates. The Cash Back Gift Cards option on Raise was only launched a month ago, so I’m not sure yet if those types of purchases track for cashback through shopping portals.
If it does track, 11% total cashback on $500 of Walmart gift cards is a sweet deal and break even or profitable for reselling, even for those that don’t have bulk selling rates. There’s no guarantee you’ll earn the 8% cashback though, so do this at your own risk.
Raise pay has been around for a while now, only lately did they start promoting it in the desktop form of the site as a means to probably compete better with the marketplace. Most portals will state that no cashback can be earned on raise pay purchases so I would say it is doubtful that cashback will post and my only feature pay purchases didn’t earn portal cashback
That’s good to know – thanks for the data point.
