This is a great deal for a couple of reasons. First, it’s around for the next couple of weeks, so there’s plenty of time to take advantage of it.
Secondly, the 500 bonus points are earned on top of the standard 2x you earn as standard when buying gift cards. That means if you buy a $50 gift card from the list of eligible brands above, you’ll earn 600 points. Those can be redeemed for $6 off groceries or 30c off per gallon of gas on up to 20 gallons. Based on the original $50 gift card purchase, that means you’d be saving 12% overall, making Home Depot profitable for reselling for some people.
I don’t know if this offer is cumulative or not. In other words, if you buy $100 of gift cards in the same transaction, I don’t know if you’ll earn 1,000 bonus points, or if you only earn the 500 bonus points once per transaction.
