2x points is worth 2% back in rewards when redeemed for savings on groceries and up to that same savings amount when redeeming for fuel. That part isn’t amazing, but could be useful for high value gift card brands like Best Buy and Amazon when also paying with a card that earns more at grocery stores.
The 1,000 bonus points offer is far more interesting. That’s worth $10 off groceries, so it’s effectively 20% back in rewards. That could make several of the five eligible gift card brands profitable or break even for reselling, especially because you’ll presumably also earn the 2x points on the purchase too (unless that’s what they’re referring to in the terms regarding the multiplier offers).
