My initial impression of this offer is that it was good for personal use, but that was about it. However, when looking closer at the offer description, this might have the potential to be a fantastic offer.
That’s because it advertises a $5 Fareway gift card for every $50 you buy of the gift cards on the list. So long as that doesn’t mean you have to buy $50 Visa or Mastercard gift cards, this is an incredibly lucrative offer. Buying a $500 Visa gift card would earn you a $50 Fareway gift card which more than offsets the $5.95 activation fee.
On the one hand, I find it hard to believe that they’d be offering such a generous promotion which is ripe for abuse. On the other hand, Fareway seems to be a relatively small grocery chain that might not have hard coded things to prevent you from using the offer in this way. There aren’t any limits listed and the wording of the offer is clearly set up to allow you to buy as many multiples of $50 gift cards as you like.
I’d give it a try with a $500 Visa gift card and if you get a $50 Fareway gift card, the sky’s the limit.
