‘Split’ is a new feature on the Point debit card that allows you to split a bill with another Point debit cardholder. To take advantage of this offer, the steps you need to take are:

1. Create a Point ID – To do this, tap the menu button in the bottom right corner (Access Deals) and then tap the circular icon in the top-right corner. Select ‘Change Username’ and select your unique Point ID.
2. Spend $20+
3. Go to Cash tab – This is the menu tab on the bottom left corner of the app.
4. Select $20+ transaction
5. Select ‘Split With A Friend’
6. Choose friend to split the cost with
7. Choose ratio of split & tap confirm

Doing that will earn you 1,000 points which is worth $10 cashback. This could therefore be an easy way to save 50% on a $20 gift card from anywhere.

What I’m not sure about is if you can double up on this offer with Player 1 and Player 2. For example, if you spend $20 and split the cost with your partner, you’d earn $10 cashback. However, I don’t know if that counts as your partner splitting a bill for the first time which would mean they’d not be eligible for $10 cashback on their own card for having already participated in splitting your bill. I suspect you can double up, but I’ve not done this yet and so can’t confirm at this point in time.
