Tips & Ideas
Although the terms of the offer in the email Point sent about this offer are confusing, it looks like each retailer/category has its own 5,000 point limit. That means you should be able to earn 10x (i.e. 10% cashback) at each of the eligible retailers such as Amazon, Whole Foods, coffee shops, etc. on up to $500 of spend at each one.
That’s a fantastic deal seeing as a lot of people will be spending that organically over the course of the next week while this promotion is live. Although gift card purchases are excluded, that doesn’t always seem to be enforced by Point and so could be a good option if you wouldn’t max out these offers organially.
Be cautious about waiting until December 25 to complete your spend though (not that you’d likely be able to spend that in-store at many of these retailers on Christmas Day). I made some purchases at Target during the recent 10x promotion on its last day and those transactions didn’t post until the following day which meant I only earned 1x rather than 10x.
