Tips & Ideas
Before proceeding, a quick heads up – I’ve no idea when this promotion will come to an end, so there’s no guarantee that even if you sign up right now that you’ll receive the increased signup bonus.
The usual bonus when being referred to the Point app is 10,000 points (worth $100) when spending $1,000 in 30 days. That’s not pure profit though because the Point debit card has a $49 annual fee.
At the moment, Point seems to be offering both the referrer and referee 25,000 points (worth $250) for signing up and spending $1,000 in 30 days. The referral program doesn’t have any reference to that increased bonus though – it’s still listing it as 10,000 points which is why I’ve no idea when the 25,000 point promotion will end.
Spending $1,000 in 30 days shouldn’t be too hard seeing as you can earn 10x (10%) at Whole Foods, 5x (5%) at Best Buy and more.
Is this targeted? My referral offer still shows 10k points
Mine shows as 10,000 too, but I received 25,000 points for a referral and I’ve seen data points of other people receiving the same.
From what I heard, the referee is getting $100 and the referrer gets $250.
Oh, I hadn’t realized that as I don’t know who used my link. Thanks for the heads up – I’ll update the post.
