It looks like this deal has already been going on for one week, but I missed that it started last week as I hadn’t been in an Office Depot recently.
The terms of this deal are interesting. There’s a limit of 2 cards per member per week, but it doesn’t seem to be capped as to the value of the cards. It should therefore be possible to buy 2 $500 Happy Lady gift cards this week and another 2 next week.
If you did that, you’d earn $80 in Office Depot Rewards, along with 10,000 Ultimate Rewards if you have a 5x Chase Ink card. If you subsequently use the Happy Lady gift cards at Bed Bath & Beyond to buy other gift cards (e.g. eBay), this might be break even or marginally profitable even if you value UR at 1cpp.
