Update: This offer is even better than it initially appeared. Kevin commented on my post about this on Frequent Miler that Hy-Vee deducts $10 for every $150 you spend on Visa gift cards, meaning if you buy a $500 Visa gift card it’ll take $30 off. That’s how the promotion worked last year which I’d forgotten about, so if you live in an area with Hy-Vee stores, it might be worth stocking up ASAP.

This is a great deal because it should work on variable load gift cards, so it’ll be both profitable and a great way to rack up some grocery store bonused spend.
Even more interestingly though, there’s no limit listed for this deal. I find it hard to believe that they’ll have left it so open like this, so it might be that you have to scan your Fuel Saver + Perks card and that enforces a limit of 1 per account. If not though, there’s a decent profit to be made by buying out their variable load Visa gift card display over the course of the next week.
One thing to note though is that these are MetaBank Visa gift cards. There are issues liquidating them at Walmart right now (and possibly at Kroger and Albertsons families of stores), so take into consideration how you’d liquidate them if this Hy-Vee deal is indeed as good as it seems.
