Tips & Ideas
This seems to be a targeted offer which might only be available if you have a personal Platinum card as those are the only cards that my wife and I received this offer on.
The terms state that gift card purchases are excluded, but that likely only refers to gift cards purchased online. You should be able to buy a $200 gift card at the front desk of one of Marriott’s brands (provided you can find one that sells gift cards) in order to lock in the 20% discount.
